JóiPé x Króli exploded onto the Icelandic scene late 2017 with their album Gerviglingur (Fake Jewellery). In only a few months becoming the most streamed new Icelandic Act, since racking up 20,000,000 streams on Spotify, their music loved by all ages.
They’re overflowing with ideas that span not just the hip-hop world, but trap and even the purest pop too. Whichever way they turn their hand, they master with conviction. Before taking this energy to live stages, where they’re carving out a reputation as one of the most exciting acts in Iceland.
As prolific as they come, the duo have released 3 albums in the space of 18 months – the latest of which recorded in the course of a day, and entitled 22:40 – 08:16 naming each song after the time it was recorded. A few days later they secretly released it without any upfront promotion, themselves still having not mentioned it publicly. When the word spread about the release, people were quick to catch on and the album was streamed around 500k times in the first month.
JóiPé x Króli have an endless creative energy, and their future is very bright for sure.
