G! Has Begun

The Faroese National Music Holiday has begun! The scent of woodsmoke wafts from the hot pots, people are meeting and chatting all around, and Konni Kass is playing on the beach. It's G! 2017.

The schedule is full of exciting names, the weather is dry and still, and a steady stream of people are filing into Syðrugøta to experience the fifteenth annual G! Festival. It was recently announced that The Times had chosen G! Festival as one of the five best festivals in Europe. The whole world has discovered what the Faroese have known for a long time: G! is something very special.

In a little while, we'll hear Swedish alternative Americana-folk-rock group Baskery on the Playground stage, and at 21:40, Austrian rockband Bilderbuch will play on the Beach stage. After that, you should go to hear Reykjavíkurdætur at 23:30, when eleven pretty Reykjavík girls take their provocative Icelandic music to the Playground stage.

At 00:30, we'll rock out to today's high point, when headliner MØ stirs the Beach crowd up to a rolling boil.

Surrounded by nature and exceptionally good music, G! 2017 is off to a world-class start!
