We are delighted to reveal the final names joining the line-up for G! Festival this year.
That means a full 12 exciting new additions. 12 more great reasons to come to G! Festival on 16–18 July this year.
Teitur & Girls in Airports
One of the Faroe Islands’ most treasured artists, Teitur Lassen, has taken on the task of reviving and reimagining old Faroese ballads, rhymes and traditional songs.
He has done so together with Danish band Girls in Airports – although, despite the name, there are no girls in the band.
The result of this collaboration is the album Kvæði, one of the most fascinating releases of 2024.
Late last year they performed a sold-out concert at Finsen, where their unique soundscape was met with glowing praise from everyone present.
This summer you can experience it in Syðrugøta. Bring the children along and let them discover our cultural heritage in a fresh and modern form when Teitur & Girls in Airports become the first act on the Playground Stage on Friday at G! 2026.
Afenginn
With more than 800 concerts behind them, Afenginn are an exceptional live act.
We have welcomed them several times before, and anyone who has seen Afenginn will never forget charismatic frontman Kim Nyberg – the energetic Finn known for his flying dreadlocks.
Their music is rich and constantly evolving. Earlier releases drew heavily on klezmer influences, traces of which are still clearly heard today, though their sound has become grander and more cinematic – never boring.
Look forward to a spectacular and lively concert when Afenginn return to G!
Faravaz
A powerful story follows Faravaz.
In Iran, women do not have the freedom to perform publicly, and Faravaz was forced to flee her homeland. Today she lives in Berlin and cannot safely return because of her artistic work.
She is a strong woman with a strong story about the freedom to create as an artist – a right many of us take for granted.
Come and experience bold, provocative pop music when the captivating Faravaz performs at G!
Komfortrauschen
Germany has always been a pioneer when it comes to electronic music.
From there comes Komfortrauschen, a trio with roots in jazz, rock and pop, who perform pounding, hand-played techno using drums, bass and guitars.
If anyone can reinterpret club music and techno through traditional instruments while keeping all the power intact, it is Komfortrauschen.
Get ready for G! – this will be wild.
Eivør – The Monster, My Little Sister
Several years ago, the children’s book Skrímslið, lítlasystir mín (“The Monster, My Little Sister”) was released. Alongside it came a record where Eivør narrated the story as an audio play with songs she composed and performed herself.
The story follows Bjarti, who gets a little sister and struggles with everything that comes with it. At first, he sees her as an annoying monster. In his imagination they embark on a dangerous adventure, and gradually Bjarti comes to truly love his little sister.
Today the book is undoubtedly a bedtime favourite in many homes – read again and again.
At G! we now get the chance to experience the story as it was meant to be performed: with narration and music, when Eivør reads and sings for us all.
Every day there is something on the programme for young and old alike, and children up to 12 years old enter free when accompanied by an adult. Bring the children on Thursday, when the first Playground Stage performance of the year will be Eivør with The Monster, My Little Sister.
Gówa
Winner of the Sement competition in 2024 and named Newcomer of the Year at the Faroese Music Awards 2025, Gówa is the alter ego of Anna Sofía Skoradal, who also became known through the award-winning documentary Vælkomin heim.
She is an outstanding singer and an even stronger live performer than most.
Her music is funky, modern soul, and we cannot wait to experience it at G! this summer.
TeleMama
One of the freshest Faroese bands of recent years is without doubt TeleMama.
These young musicians burst through the door and into our hearts a few years ago, before stepping back for a while. Like many young Faroese people, the reason was studies abroad.
But TeleMama have continued working on a full release and singles, and the band are now ready to conquer our hearts once again.
Look forward to a vibrant and uplifting concert when TeleMama return to G! this summer.
maður:glotti
Terji Krossteig and Robin Ova Tolfsen / Dennis Agerblad are the artists behind cult act maður:glotti.
These are pioneers who have never been afraid to say out loud what many others would not dare say at all. Nor have they ever been afraid to stand outside the mainstream.
And much can be said if you know how to say it the right way. Through humour in words, clothing and performance, these veterans always manage to charm their way into people’s hearts.
Their style is kitsch and homemade, and if maður:glotti dare so much, perhaps the rest of us can dare a little more too.
With new music in their bag, maður:glotti will perform with band at G! this summer.
Kóboykex
When something is kitsch, it is often deliberately a little awkward – and that is exactly where Kóboykex thrive.
Two men, Heiðrik and Sigmund, dressed in colourful country-and-western outfits and cowboy hats, backed by a band unafraid to use gloriously cheesy drum machines and spaghetti-western guitars.
It is not overly serious – but it is seriously well done.
The last time they played G!, Heiðrik lost his cowboy hat after the concert. We hope it has been found again so we can experience Kóboykex at full strength this year.
GiFU
An exciting Norwegian name right now is GiFU, featuring renowned Faroese guitarist Oddur Joensen.
The band have already played widely – in London, Sweden, India and countless venues across Norway.
We can look forward to an epic and psychedelic sonic world when GiFU perform at G!
Silent Disco
Silent Disco has in recent years become a regular part of G!, and we are now also beginning to see it appear in nightlife across the Faroe Islands.
It remains just as fun as ever: everyone dancing and singing joyfully to completely different songs, while those standing outside hear no music at all.
There will be an evening edition on the Playground Stage, but for the first time this year Silent Disco will also be part of the major children’s event on Saturday.
That will be something special, and we are excited to return to the roots of Silent Disco when it comes to G! in July – this time for children too.
JVNTOR x Trygvii
DJ duo JVNTOR x Trygvii will both open and close the party at G! this year.
Already on Wednesday they will play at the camping area when it opens.
They will also have the final word, when they take over Fjósið and play through the night into Sunday morning.
Pack your tent and your dancing shoes, and come to G!
Here were 12 more great reasons to come to G! Festival on 16–18 July this year.
