Jóannes Joensen – Bass Elvis at G!

We are truly looking forward to seeing the beloved and entertaining Bass Elvis light up the stage at G! Festival 2025.

"When you dress up like that, aren’t you afraid people will laugh at you?" the host asked in an interview. Bass Elvis (Jóannes Joensen) simply smiled and answered: "I don’t care. I love seeing people smile when I perform."

Many Faroese people were touched by last year’s heartwarming and life-affirming documentary Bass Elvis og Jesus á Mallorka ("Bass Elvis and Jesus in Mallorca"), about Jóannes Joensen from Leirvík, who lives with schizophrenia and uses music as both strength and medicine.

We are truly looking forward to seeing the beloved and entertaining Bass Elvis light up the stage at G! Festival 2025.

Normally, we reveal one name from the G! 2025 lineup every Tuesday, but this week is Spæl Føroyskt (Play Faroese) week, where we focus entirely on Faroese artists—announcing a new name every day. Look forward to Hallur Joensen, Marius DC, Beinir, Benjamin Rajani, Greta Svabo, Jóannes Joensen / Bass Elvis, and many more.

G! Festival takes place July 17–19, 2025. You have to be there!
