The Faroese Invasion of Iceland: Panel Discussion at the G! Festival

This year's G! Festival will feature an exciting panel discussion titled 'The Faroese Invasion of Iceland.' The discussion will focus on the early 2000s, when Faroese bands like Týr, Clickhaze, Krit, and Eivør Pálsdóttir took Iceland by storm and became part of the Icelandic music scene. Participants in the discussion include Arnar Eggert, an Icelandic journalist and pop music expert, Jón Tyril, founder of the G! Festival and former member of Clickhaze, and Knút Háberg Eysturstein, musician and PhD student in musicology, who will moderate the session. They will discuss how this musical journey transformed Faroese music and how this era has left its mark on contemporary Faroese music. Come and gain insight into a special time when a Faroese musical wave flowed into Iceland and made a significant impact, especially at home in the Faroe Islands, all the way to the present day."
