Crazy to Be Standing Here!

Faroese Konni Kass was this year's first performer on the Playground Stage, and Danish Phlake was the first on the Beach.

Never before have so many tickets been sold for G! on Thursday evening, and the upcoming performances promise a great event.

The first Faroese headliner, Konni Kass, entertained a full field in front of the playground stage, followed by Phlake on the Beach, whose sounds are resounding even now for a full crowd in lively festival mood.

You can look forward to the first release by Konni Kass in November this year - it's advertised mysteriously as "some sort of pop." The performance on the playground was excellent, musically and stylistically, and there is no doubt that Konni has one of the best young female voices the Faroes has heard in recent years.

Danish Phlake likewise brought a large crowd down into the village with its catchy R&B and Hiphop sounds, whose popularity is quickly growing. But they also like little Gøta, which the lead singer affirmed in his first sentence to the crowd, after the group was clapped onto the stage with the famous Icelandic huh-clap:

- "It's crazy to be standing here!" he called out after the first song and pointed wonderingly out at Gøtuvík.
