This year's G! Festival has kicked off in the most beautiful weather. Guests are relaxing in the hot pots and music is beginning to drift through Syðrugøta once more.

This evening, G! will begin in earnest. Yesterday the young folk competed for the best spots in the camping area, and today, the festival grounds are ready for business. The hot pots on the sand in Syðrugøta are at the heart of the festival, and are already coming to life.

The biggest names out on the beach (Sandur) tonight will be Phlake and SBCR aka The Bloody Beetroots, who will be leading a huge electronic music party.

The headliners on the Playground (Spælipláss) stage tonight are Konni Kass and Punjab, while the heavy metal acts will fill the barn (Fjós), where the "Upp við Hornunum" event has gathered together excellent groups like Iron Lungs and Svartmálm.

Welcome to G! Festival --
