OYGGJATÓNASTOVAN PRESENTS “SAKARIS MAKES BANGER” @ G! Festival
The network “Oyggjatónastovan” is a forum for the creative process, an opportunity to meet like-minded people on the music scene, gain some insight into production, songwriting, lyric-writing, and the creative process. The network serves as a “living room” for creatives to share their passion for the creation of music.
Oyggjatónastovan will be hosting its fourth edition on July 15th at the G! Festival, with SAKARIS as the guest.
SAKARIS is a Faroese Artist, producer and songwriter based in Reykjavik, Iceland. As an Artist, his music is a place where “J-pop meets 80s glam pop meets devastating Nordic scepticism”. As a producer he has worked with a wide array of artists, including Janus Rasmussen, GDRN, Emmsje Gauti, JóiP, Arnór Dan, Hildur, Árstíðir, Einangran, FRUM, Guðrið Hansdóttir, Guðrun og Bartal, Byrta, Heiðrik á Heygum, Frostfelt, Martin Joensen, and Kiasmos.
While in lockdown last year, SAKARIS took to doing live streams of what he calls his “attempts to make a banger”. On the 15th July we will join him as he “makes (a) banger” live in Fjósið, at G! Festival, taking us through his songwriting and production process. Due to the spontaneous nature of these sessions, the results may either be golden or completely disastrous, adding to the fun. SAKARIS is known for his colourful, quirky and diverse pop music, from minimal piano ballads to ecstatic bubblegum electropop, so by the end of the session we might be dancing, or we might be crying - be there to find out.
