Yggdrasil og Vera Kondrateva

Yggdrasil is a Faroese ensemble formed in 1981 by composer & pianist Kristian Blak, who has written most of the material for the group. From the very beginning musicians from other countries have been part of the line up. At the concert July 15th Faroese musicians are joined by Khanty singer and dancer Vera Kondrateva from Sibiria, with whom Yggdrasil has collaborated on several occasions. Since first concert in Surgut 2015 with her as soloist Vera Kondrateva and Yggdrasil have recorded the CD Lipet Ei (The Seven Brothers) and performed together in Norway, Sweden, Greenland, Sibiria, Italy – and naturally Faroe Islands.

The concert will focus on ethnic music from around latitude 6263.

Yggdrasil has over the years released 19 albums and toured all continents.
