The Camping Area has Opened!

The camping zone at G! 2018 has been stormed by excited guests, and so this year's festival has really begun. We take a stroll through the new tent "village" and meet two cool girls, who are at G! for the first and fifth time, respectively.

G! Festival 2018 has really begun; the camping area is open!

The area is already buzzing with excitment and creative energy. Sofas, flags, and signs painted with camp-names are everywhere, transforming this field into a cozy space for hundreds of festival-goers to live for the next four days. The music is great and the atmosphere is lively despite the blanket of fog.

G! for the first time / G! for the fifth time

For some, going to G! every year is a routine, an annual pilgrimage, a way of life. For others, this is the very first time!

We talked with two girls from Tórshavn -- 19-year-old Johanna Langaard and Gunnva Jacobsen. It's Johanna's fifth time at G!, and it's Gunnva's first.

Why have you come to G!?

Gunnva: I have heard so much about G!, and all of my friends always go. I have actually never been to a festival before and I feel like it is something I have to experience -- especially the camping area.

Johanna: Hmmm... the party! I also love to meet new people and enjoy the Faroese summer.

What are you most excited about?

Johanna: Every year I am most excited to be in the camping area, which is where I like to be the most. I'm also looking forward to seeing Scarlet Pleasure and marching in the G! parade.

Gunnva: I'm most excited about experiencing the camping area and the special atmosphere there, but also to hear the music, especially Rag'n'Bone Man and Scarlet Pleasure.
