EKSIL: NATURE WRITING TOP MEETING

A sensory, interdisciplinary event where nature, film, literature, and music converge. Arranged by local publisher Eksil. Rooted in the Faroese landscape and inspired in part by the poetry film project The River by Thomas Koba, with texts by Kim Simonsen and music by Heðin Ziska Davidsen, the program presents new works exploring the relationship between humans and the environment. Among the international guests is Danish author Silja E. K. Henderson, whose book Guthensø is rooted in her daily walks through landscapes around Roskilde. Through diary-like reflections and a poetic, sensory language, she allows nature, consciousness, and the body to flow together in a vivid exploration of how we experience and understand the world. Also participating is Danish writer Maja Elverkilde, whose work engages with nature writing and everyday life through a personal and thought-provoking style. Her writing questions contemporary ways of living while opening space for new perspectives on presence, simplicity, and the relationship between humans and nature. On stage, you will also encounter Faroese voices such as Beinir Bergsson and Vónbjört Vang, alongside other artists who each, in their own way, give form and sound to our connection with the natural world. Join us for a moment where words, sound, and landscape merge, an invitation to pause, listen, and see nature with new eyes.
