Guðrið Hansdóttir - Fresh, Crisp, and a little Trippy

Guðrið Hansdóttir is one of the Faroe Islands’ most cherished singer-songwriters. With several albums to her name, she holds a special place in Faroese music, admired for her distinctive voice and thoughtful songwriting.

Her most recent album, Gult myrkur, won the Faroese Music Awards for Best Album and Best Lyrics in 2023. Already, she is back with a new release titled Sýrublað — a title that plays on the word sýrað, hinting at something both acidic and slightly trippy.

Produced by Høgni Lisberg, the album moves at a higher pace and, according to Guðrið herself, carries a fresh, crisp, green sound with a subtly trippy edge. The lyrics are written by Beinir Bergson.
