ÆTLA: MOTHER NORTH

- A Concert Celebrating Nordic Identity and Women as Composers

ÆTLA [ˈatla] is a vocal music group based in Copenhagen which consists of eight technically skilled singers from Sweden, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Denmark. They deliver intense and intimate concert experiences. The name reflects the group's mission: to explore, challenge, and expand the boundaries of classical vocal music.

The concert is based on works by four contemporary Nordic female composers: Unn Paturson (FO), Josefine Lindstrand (SE), Mette Nielsen (DK), and Anna Sigríður Þorvaldsdóttir (IS). It explores themes related to Nordic identity; topics like childhood, faith, and nature.
