EIVØR

Eivor at G! has almost become an institution, a happening in its own right. What other Artist on the world stage hails from a remote ancient fishing village, where an equally unique global gathering has grown and flourished. The symbiotic growth of this remarkable Faroese Artist, alongside G! festival itself, is both a deep and expansive relationship. One forged in art and love.

Eivør's music holds a transportive and mesmerising power. A power released in a stage show that has seen her take a sound of the Faroe Islands to the world. A sold out debut UK tour in 2017, and debut 2018 US tour in support of Nordic Wardruna, to receive standing ovations from a public who connect immediately with her music and expression, that she continues to cultivate over a significant body of work, with an unrelenting tour schedule all over Europe.

“The live show is my thing. The songs truly come alive to me when I can reflect them back to an audience.”

The origin of Eivor’s music lie in Faroese folk singing. But the context and connection to the wider musical world of 2019, are in her fascination amongst the infinite possibilities of electronic music. An evolution and development in a sonic exploration, that is as constant as the sea.
